The Thrust Areas
The proposed Technology Incubator will focus on four thrust areas based on expertise and facilities available in the host institution, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The thrust areas will be:
• Information and Communication Technology • Application of Biotechnology  • Food Sector    • Agriculture & Allied Sector

Techno Entrepreneurial Promotion Program: TePP Out Reach Centre, Varanasi has been given the responsibility to cater the Easter UP, Bihar and Jharkhand, by DST. We are scouting the grass root innovators from this region and helping them in getting grants fro modification of their product in phase I and starting their own industry in phase II. TIFAC was established with the following objectives:
Undertake technology assessment and forecasting studies in selected areas of national economy.
Watch global trends and formulation of preferred options for India.
Promotion of key technologies, and
